Frequently Asked Questions

Thinking of joining a workshop? I am sure that there are a lot on your mind and you may have a lot to ask before joining.

Here are a few examples of questions that usually people ask us before joining our class.

How many will be in the class?

Class sizes are usually around 5 to 6 people.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Everything is provided; all materials and equipment. You do not need to bring anything with you.
Please wear old clothing or bring an apron as oil paint does stain.
Tea, coffee and water are available.
You will be able to take your painting home with you on the day; in a protective box so it won’t smudge on your way home.
Your painting will be touch dry in around a week and totally dry in around three months.

I need to cancel / reschedule my booking. What do I do?

I understand life gets in the way and you may not be able to come to your booked workshop. We can move your booking to another date.
Please call me at the earliest possible convenience so that I can offer the place to someone who is on the waiting list.
I do not offer refunds (unless in exceptional circumstances).

I haven’t painted since I was at school / I’ve never painted / I’m ‘terrible’ at painting / I’m worried I need to be an experienced painter to join the class?

Each class is designed to make sure a complete beginner can enjoy the session and come away with something they are proud of.
Using Bob Ross’ wet on wet technique and unique teaching style, you will be guided throughout the process and will complete a painting from start to finish. Take a look at some of the feedback we’ve received to hear first-hand how people have enjoyed the class.

I’ve done a bit of oil painting before. Will your class help me take my painting to the next level?

The classes will teach the wet on wet style of oil painting which may be new to more experienced oil painters. More experienced artists will enjoy the classes and the opportunity to practice and develop their brush and knife skills, colour mixing and application onto the canvas.

Is there an age restriction for the workshops?

The classes are best suited to those aged 16+. If you are younger or interested in booking a class for younger people then please get in touch as sessions can be amended to suit a younger group.

Can I bring my own paint / brushes / canvas / easel?

All materials and equipment are provided, so you don’t need to bring your own supplies. We prefer for everyone to use the equipment and materials provided so that everyone has the same consistent teaching experience.
If you’ve enjoyed the class, you can order your very own Bob Ross art materials (at a reduced rate from RRP) so you can
carry on with your new hobby at home.
